  1. What are the important dates for the Inc. Best Workplaces application?

    Application:
    Early Rate Deadline: 1/10/19  ($195)
    Regular Rate Deadline: 2/7/2019 ($245)
    Late Rate Deadline: 2/14/19 ($345)
    (Extended) Final Application Deadline: 2/22/19
    All deadlines are 11:59 PM PST on the dates above

    Employee Survey:
    Survey Deadline*:  3/12/19

    *The employee survey is launched on a weekly basis. The employee survey setup email is sent out to new applicants once a week on Thursdays. Applicants will receive instructions for the employee survey the Thursday after they've submitted their application. 
     
  2. Why should my company apply?
     
    Recognition & Publicity – Winners will be listed in the June 2019 issue of Inc. Magazine and on Inc.com and the honor will be highlighted on your Inc.com company profile. 

    Awareness & Engagement – Being named a Best Workplace will elevate your firm's employer brand and improve recruiting. It will drive engagement and enthusiasm of current employees. It will send a clear message that the culture of your company is a primary strategic priority.

    Invaluable Insights: Learn what your employees are really thinking with a company overview filled with valuable information you can use to improve your day-to-day operations and workplace environment.
     
  3. What will my company receive?

    If your company is rated one of the Best Workplaces, you will be listed in the June 2019 issue of the magazine and on Inc.com. The honor will be highlighted on your Inc.com company profile. Win or lose, you'll receive an Overview Report, based on your employee survey, which will show your company's score on key measurements.
    If your company is not honored on the list, your participation remains 100 percent confidential. For honorees, selected answers could be used in editorial content. You would likely be contacted by Inc. writers or fact checkers.
     
  4. Is there a cost to participate?

    Yes, the early rate application fee is $195 (fee increases to $245 on 1/11/19 and $345 on 2/8/19). Identifying the best workplaces in the U.S. is an enormous editorial project that, among other things, raises awareness of entrepreneurship as a valuable force in our economy. The processing fee covers only a portion of the operational costs of this undertaking.
     
  5. How are the Inc. Best Places to Work honorees determined?

    Inc.'s Best Workplaces honorees are determined on the basis of companies’ employees' responses to the Quantum Workplace Survey, the number of employees who take to the survey, along with an audit of the organization's benefits. These items are used to determine the company's overall score and ranking. Quantum Workplace is a leading provider of employee feedback software and analytics.
     
  6. What if my company does not make Inc.'s Best Workplaces list?

    You will still receive access to your Survey Overview Report and you will have the opportunity to purchase additional reports and analysis. Your company name will not be placed on any list and will not be printed in the special publication.
     
  7. How will I know if my company made the list? When will I be contacted?

    Companies* will be contacted regarding their status as a finalist or non-finalist by mid-May. *Companies must meet the employee survey participation goal in order to be considered (the participation goal is determined by the size of your company).
     
  8. When will the list of honorees be published?

    The list will be published in mid-may in the June 2019 issue of the magazine and on Inc.com.
